Portuguese ceramics & terracotta
A selection of typical Portuguese hand painted terracotta tableware and vibrant ceramic hand painted roosters.
Our beautiful terracotta tableware is handcrafted and hand painted by two well established family owned pottery makers from São Pedro do Corval village in the beautiful Alentejo region of Portugal.
New this summer we are excited to introduce a new range of designs from Olaria Carrilho Lopes who celebrated 50 years of traditional pottery making in 2020. As an introduction to their beautiful designs we have added three of their collections to our website. In keeping with our popular ‘Blue Flowers’ range we have the ‘Blue & White’ collection, additional items to our ‘Rainbow’ Olaria Ramalho collection including sangria jugs, butter dishes and extra large round plates and an entirely new collection called ‘Tones of Blue’. This collection mixes different tones of blue creating a very stylish and modern design.
In addition we also have seven other collections available from the Olaria Ramalho range which include: ‘Olives’, ‘Moroccan Blue’, ‘Fruits’, ‘Blue Flowers’, ‘Fishes’, ‘Modern Fishes’ and ‘Rainbow’. The ‘Rainbow’ design was introduced in 2020 and is a fun and colourful collection of tableware featuring multi patterned designs in a variety of mixed and different contrasting colours. These beautifully hand painted collections are intended for everyday use. The range includes serving bowls, jugs, plates and platters.
Also introduced last year we have a range of tableware that depicts the traditional glazed terracotta that is typically Portuguese with a stylish hand painted white and blue band decorative design. This collection includes casserole dishes, jugs, platters and chorizo grills.
All products are oven proof and dishwasher safe.
Also included in this category is the hand painted good luck rooster. A traditional symbol of Portugal. Available in different sizes, these are made of clay and beautifully hand painted in vibrant colours.
